Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A good choice of restaurant for a vegetarian. It has wide varieties of veggies. We have ordered spinach with fried ginger, sizzling Tofu, Petai fried rice, broccoli mushroom stir fry; the food tastes good. Reasonably priced. This restaurant has spicy sambal peta famous among people who come here. One who has an appetite for mock meat also has options here."
"Perfect weekend family breakfast: a huge feast of vegetarian dim sum! This place has the most complete selection we've found. The vegetarian 'char siu' pau was fantastic, and the kids devoured the 'siu long pau'. Hands down the best vegetarian dim sum so far in kl."
"Very nice neighbourhood vegetarian restaurant in this area. Foods and drinks tasted delicious at a reasonable price. Highly recommend to vegans."
"Delicious veg options. Super busy. Well priced food. So much to choose from. Will return. A little hidden gem."
"One of the best vegetarian restaurant tasted, so beautiful and yummy with decent pricing! Fruit tea was a flash back from the past however pricey at 20 rm for a teapot the rest was just yummylicious altogether!"
"Dim sum for vegetarians? Sign me up, but also, bring backup, because the menu reads like a Buddhist monk’s cheat day. Nestled in the misty, slightly chaotic labyrinth that is Taman OUG, Tian Xiang Yuan does a valiant job of reimagining Chinese classics without the carnage. Weekend mornings are a ritual here. Elbow your way past families claiming tables like it’s ancestral land, and you’ll be rewarded with mock “siew mai,” “har gao” without the guilt, and deep-fried radish cake that could convince a meat-eater that tofu is the future. The sambal mock fish is spicy enough to trigger existential reflection, and the curry mutton? Fragrant, chewy, and suspiciously addictive.. definitely not from a real mutton. Prices aren’t rock-bottom, but you’re paying for variety, freshness, and a semi-spiritual experience where your conscience stays clean. Service teeters between zen and zombified depending on the crowd, and some dishes vanish faster than your will to share. Would return. Would fight someone for the last BBQ “pork” bun. Wouldn’t bring a carnivore who thinks “vegetarian food” means boiled broccoli and sadness."
"Had lunch the food taste is far above from other vegetarian restaurants. However the big Baos we bought home was a very big disappointment because it did not have the big Baos taste. It tasted like vegetarian char siew Bao. This is actually not good they should called it big char siew Bao."
"What a joy it is to discover Tian Xiang Yuan Vegetarian Restaurant in Taman Desa. Their vegetarian dim sum selection is not only tasty but impressively varied – each bite is full of flavor, thoughtfully prepared, and comforting in its own way. From classic steamed dumplings to creative plant-based takes on dim sum favorites, everything felt satisfying and fulfilling. It’s not just about the food – dining here reminded me how lucky and grateful I am to live in a place where vegetarian options are becoming more abundant, accessible, and delicious. Tian Xiang Yuan is a true gem for those seeking wholesome vegetarian meals with heart."
